ATP relative luminesence levels are reported in terms of Relative Light Units (RLU), and may be interpreted as follows, with respect to the meter type and swab type used:
RLU | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Meter | Swab | Pass | Caution | Fail |
EnSure | UltraSnap | ≤ 20 | 21-49 | ≥ 50 |
EnSure | SuperSnap | ≤ 100 | 101-249 | ≥ 250 |
SystemSure II | UltraSnap | ≤ 10 | 11-24 | ≥ 25 |
SystemSure II | SuperSnap | ≤ 50 | 51-124 | ≥ 125 |
SystemSure Plus | UltraSnap | ≤ 10 | 11-24 | ≥ 25 |
SystemSure Plus | SuperSnap | ≤ 50 | 51-124 | ≥ 125 |
3M Clean-Trace | Clean-Trace swab | ≤ 150 | 151-299 | ≥ 300 |
IAQ Analytics does not discriminate between ATP readings from "hard to clean" and "easy to clean" surfaces. The average of these two limits has been used to decide whether an ATP sample has "failed" or is merely a "caution". Meanwhile, the type of surface does not affect the "passed" criterion at all. IAQ Analytics also does not consider which industry or work location the data were obtained from. If a work zone is that of an operating business or if health is at stake in the zone, then no responsibility is taken by IAQ Analytics for the term "pass" nor is such responsibility taken in living areas or occupied areas or food preparation areas. The pass levels reported are those of the manufacturers of the equipment and of the swabs.
